I really enjoy when I have the opportunity to direct, produce and edit video content. "Rompientes de Lima" is a personal project where I fuse my love for the sea and my love for hand-drawn and digital illustration. Through this project I share my knowledge about the behavior of our different breakers, and how they work with different tides, floods and directions. As Head Designer of Inner Quest Surfboards I design custom boards that reveal each person's particular surf. I am passionate about creating boards that fuse design, style and performance. I like to talk to each rider and understand their story; where it comes from and what it is looking for, this is how I prepare unique pieces, boards that are companions on different trips.For 20 years I rode many types of waves and tried different boards made in Peru, Hawaii, Brazil... going through almost all shapes. I use my experience and each person's story to create.In addition to having impeccable performance and high durability, I like my boards to look unique and different. I look for them to have a defined personality, I try unusual combinations of tails, rails and V's, and I also get a lot of inspiration from retro shapes. I really enjoy the design process of each board. I am inspired by the sensations that I have experienced over the years and I am always researching and learning from the best shapers worldwide, I identify what catches my attention and then I materialize, modify and combine it to my style. #InnerQuest #HonorYourStory

As Head Coach of Inner Quest Surf Experiences I design and teach unique and personalized surf programs. People from Peru and all over the world look for me because they want to learn to ride waves, improve their surfing, join one of our surf trips or go make the board of their dreams. Most of them are looking for a change, some are traveling and others simply want a unique experience to honor that special place surfing occupies in their lives.

As a business owner in the surf industry, I manage various aspects of the Inner Quest brand such as general logistics, production, content creation, establishment of strategic alliances, new lines of business and marketing, among others. Being a new brand, I managed to quickly position IQ among the top surfboard brands in Lima, at the same time receiving orders from the entire coast of Peru, South America and Europe.

It was 1999 when I started setting up my own Board School, one of the first in Makaha Beach which I called "J Surfing Trainer". I have more than 20 years training people of all ages and surfing levels to achieve the most diverse objectives, from getting started in surfing to competitive surfing. Over the years I professionalized my method, obtaining various certifications as a Surf Coach and Instructor, including the ISA certification.

From the experience bringing my daughter closer to the sea, my wife and I developed "First steps in the water": The first mini-surf program in Peru, aimed at boys and girls who already walk up to the age of 5. In 2016 I came in third place in the National Surf Circuit, Master category.

From the beginning it became natural for me to link my training as an artist and designer to the world of surfing. Thus, over the years I have developed graphic projects that include corporate logos, sports logos and editorial design. As well as artistic projects in mixed techniques that include modeling, sculpture and photography, such as the design of the trophy for the "Tow-In Pro in Chilca" Championship and the design of the poster for an Interschool Surf Championship. Since I became certified as an ISA Surf Judge I have participated in National and International Surfing, Kite Surfing and SUP Championships. I participated as a judge in the National Board Circuit, in the Pico Alto Invitational of Ola Grande, the Herradura Invitacional, the Chilca Tow-in and in the Bolivarian Games, among others. Training as a judge has allowed me to develop a much more technical eye to improve my own surfing and help others improve theirs. From this I also became certified as an ISA Coach.

With CLARO PERU I worked on a live broadcast space where the sea report from the beaches of the Costa Verde in Lima and from different points on the coast of Peru was offered. CLARO is a Telecommunications company and through this space we sought to highlight how CLARO's coverage, signal and mobile internet contributed to the lifestyle of a surfer, associating the brand with the positive values ​​of sport and healthy living.

In this second season at Klimax I had the opportunity to completely design and layout the brand's first digital magazine, as well as design the logos of several board models that came out at that time.

I started working at Klimax from a graphic assignment: the image change of the logo and isotype of Klimax Surfboards. After that, I stayed as part of the staff at the shop-workshop. I was lucky to start my apprenticeship in one of the best tabla workshops in Peru, with the influence of the legendary Rodolfo Klima. In addition to allowing me to see up close the work of world-class guest shapers like Glenn Minami, the best of Peruvian surfing, as well as international riders, paraded through that workshop. It is there, in conversations with surfers and shapers from all over the world, and surrounded by so many boards that my concern began to understand what makes surfboards special and unique.
