I joined Platzi in May 2022, to lead the Finance team of the company (Accounting, Tax, Financial Planning and Treasury), to put the administration in order and prepare it to be in a position to do an IPO eventually.Getting to know a new industry (EdTech) and being part of a start up, with the dynamics and use of technologies it has, is a very interesting and constant learning experience.The most important achievements at Platzi were the following:• Bringing the company up to date with its statutory audits, which were overdue since FY2020.• Streamlined the intercompany model, generating savings of more than USD 1.5 million.• Improved the reporting process, generating more information, with less effort, greater speed and better frequency.• Streamlined the Company's cost structure, almost tripling the runway in just 6 months.

Responsible for designing the accounting strategy and control of accounting and information systems and the planning and management of business strategies and campaigns.Measure, anticipate and avoid deviations or future crises. That is, analyze both the strategies and decisions of the past, control those that are being carried out and develop future ones.Coordinate fluid communication with management through reporting and creation of clear dashboards.Control budget compliance and calculate productivity and profitability of the company.Preparation of reports and key indicators, converting corporate objectives into measurable parameters to know exactly the results obtained.Implement a management reporting program and reporting to brands, sponsors, partners or companies in collaboration.

I joined IMS in the second half of 2019, with the proposal to put the Company in order and prepare it for an eventual IPO.In addition, I got to know a new industry in more depth and in a position with greater scope and seniority than I had previously: in addition to accounting and reporting, I was also responsible for different administrative areas such as Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Collections and with a central role in joint decision making with Treasury, Planning and Tax.The most important achievements at IMS were the following:• Improving the reporting process, homogenising information from all its subsidiaries and speeding up reporting times, so that decisions can be taken in a more timely manner and with more information.• Successfully integrating 3 companies we acquired during my tenure into the Company's financial reporting system.

I joined Despegar in mid-2014 with the aim of professionalising the Finance area, designing the group's accounting and internal control policies and applying them homogeneously in all the group's companies, in order to prepare the company for an IPO.During my time at Despegar, we managed to professionalise the area, implementing a new ERP in all the companies of the group and leading it to a very successful IPO on NYSE (Sept. 2017) and accompanying the Company in the transformation from a start-up to a huge Corporation.My role in Despegar was to define the accounting policies of the group, analyse the accounting and reporting (taking into account the needs of all internal clients) of the different operations or new businesses that the Company was carrying out, consolidate the information of the subsidiaries and present them internally and monthly to Management for the management of the business, and externally and quarterly to the SEC (under US GAAP), attending the auditors during that process.

Between August 2017 and April 2018 I held the role of Regional Controller on an interim basis, which gave me room and visibility to propose and implement many positive changes in the Company and to learn a lot in personal and professional terms (a mini-MBA).

I joined Deloitte while I was in my final year of my accounting degree. It was my first formal work experience.Deloitte is a fundamental school in the training of finance professionals, in terms of the work methodology, the knowledge you acquire and the professionals you work with. During a year at Deloitte one can go through different industries (in my case: gaming, hospitality, retail, real estate, mass consumption, etc.) and situations (IPOs, M&As, Due diligences, etc.) that occur in the different clients (SEC, BCBA, IGJ) to which one provides services, which enrich the experience.
