As the Chairman of the ISO/TC8/SC12 on Large Yachts, I lead a diverse team of international experts dedicated to the development and revision of global standards in the Superyacht industry. My role involved overseeing all aspects of the sub-committee's work, ensuring that our standards were robust, relevant, and up-to-date with the latest technological and regulatory developments.

I am responsible for the development of the new Red Ensign Group (REG) Yacht Code which is combining an updated versions of the Passenger Yacht Code & LY3. This includes the chairing of working groups on this development alongside Helicopter Landing Areas technical standards.I have been responsible for the 3rd, 4th & 5th Editions of the PYC. I chair the PYC Industry Working Group meetings and co-ordinate their sub groupsI work with the MCA and other REG members as the CISR representative during yacht policy discussions and development of new regulations including at the IMO to ensure that new regulations are tempered at source to be more yacht centric or dis-applied where appropriate.I conduct statutory surveys on yachts as well as predominantly overseeing a new build portfolio for the largest yachts the industry has under construction for both the Large Yacht Code (LY3) & the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC).

As an authorised surveyor of the Cayman Islands, I conduct ISM/ISPS audits both onboard and DOCs at company premises as well as SOLAS, MARPOL & MLC surveys on ships, yachts and other marine vessels requiring excellent analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure to fit in with vessel schedules, I couple this with a solutions-oriented approach to ensure that our vessels can continue to trade safely without undue delay.As a new build yacht surveyor I have projects both across Europe & with my responsibilities now covering the Far East & Australasia, I have projects in mainland China, Taiwan & Australia.

My responsibility is to develop and mange the strategic direction for matters influencing general seaworthiness, in line with the UK Government’s maritime strategy for Safer Ships, Safer Lives and Cleaner Seas and specifically for the ship safety remits.

The experience derived in my current role at the MCA includes international legislation implementation, the regulatory framework, alternative arrangements under statutory instruments & certificates of equivalence, ISM Code auditing, legislation interpretation and Convention framework & applicability. This Experience has led me to being a delegation technical specialist for the United Kingdom at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in developing international technical legislation and guidelines.

I worked converting 2D construction drawings via site surveys into 3D models for as-builtfit-out drawings.
