I am a seasoned solution architect offering 15+ years in designing reliable, high-performance and scalable software platforms. 18 years ago, I discovered my passion for solving complex programming problems and troubleshooting large system issues. Since then, I’ve written a lot of software code, but found my true calling in refactoring/redesigning existing systems. More recently, I’ve also been drawn to event-driven serverless micro-service architectures in the AWS Cloud as evidenced by my AWS Solution Architect Professional certification, which I obtained recently. I started out at Tikkie as an AWS Migration Lead to transition the Tikkie back-end from traditional servers to the cloud. Some of the overall responsibilities within this included: ☛ Migrated the infrastructure to AWS and Docker to mitigate and resolve scalability issues ☛ Defined the AWS solution architecture, using a replatforming approach in which we used docker on ECS , RDS and Aurora postgress databases. ☛ Leading development and engineering teams in the execution of projects against committed milestones. ☛ Set-up CI/CD pipelines and code infrastructure, and architected the AWS solution. In this project we build a central repository for shared data within the company. We haven an cqrs event driven solution with axon framework in the middle and mongoDb as database. We provided eventstream for the other applications, so that they could easily keep up to date with the central repo. We also build a sync to get updates from their old legacy systems.Kinesis(POC) kafka(POC) and rabitmq where used for the messaging with other projects
