I enjoy helping people reach their goals, using a solution-focused approach where appropriate.At the University of Brighton I worked with careers professionals, students and lecturers on degree courses relating to STEM, Art, Design & Media, Humanities, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Sports & Service Management:• Providing careers guidance on one-to-one basis and to groups to students; developing and delivering employability and job-search workshops to students; supporting lecturers in embedding employability skills in curriculum.• Developing and implementing student and staff volunteering service on campus by sourcing safe, supported and rewarding placements from over 100 local not-profit organisations, matching students with placements and supporting students and organisations throughout.

• Worked on various projects funded by East Sussex County Council, Job Centre Plus, Learning Skills Council, and Department of Trade and Industry, to develop and provide service of vocational guidance, jobsearch and business start-up support to unemployed adults including those with mental health needs.• Provided one-to-one vocational guidance and support in making funding applications; organised personal development courses; held forums and courses on employment-related issues; developed strong working practices with the voluntary, statutory and business sector.• Kept detailed client records in line with Data Protection Act, monitored and evaluated projects, wrote reports as contractually required, and represented organisations at external meetings.

Developed, marketed and implemented training programmes on school management for governing bodies of 120 schools; organised seminars, courses and conferences, from conception and needs analyses through to evaluation; designed training materials, brochures and newsletter; managed government-funded project and controlled budget; recruited and supervised course tutors.

Co-ordinated development of programmes for the unwaged; organised and delivered training on unemployment issues to instructors and government officials; successfully gained government funding for educational guidance programme.
