I have over 12 years experience working as a legal assistant/paralegal in a law office doing everything from proofreading various legal documents; building simple judicial council forms; recording abstracts of judgment; levying writs; drafting service instructions; drafting simple letters to the court filing documents; calendaring; setting up telephonics, court reporters, interpreters, out of town service instructions; cleaning up and organizing case files; tracking case progress; pulling court dockets, and calling various courts we dealt with when needed to check on the status of a case; to getting the mail out, and opening, receiving, and logging the mail. Prior to that I was in the Marine Corps for four years. The last two years of my time in the Marine Corps I worked as a Battalion Legal Clerk building basic Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) forms such as Non-Judicial Punishment (NJP) forms, Summary Courts-Martial paperwork, and Administrative Separation (ADSEPS) paperwork, shuttling it to various on-base departments such as Division Personnel Admin Center (DPAC), Legal Services Support Section (LSSS), and Regimental Headquarters; tracking multiple cases; and following up as needed. I'm a very fast typist, pretty good proofreader, and pretty good at following instructions. There's a lot I don't know, but I'm a quick study and willing to learn.
