Jocelyn appeared against King’s Counsel and a Junior, in the matter of Paley v The London Borough of Waltham Forest [2022] EWCA Civ 112.Business and Property LawJocelyn’s practice includes regular instructions in the following areas:Landlord and tenant law;Possession claims and forfeiture;Social housing, homelessness and anti-social behaviour;Wills and contentious probate, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975;Injunctions and freezing orders;Contractual disputes and debts;Partnership and agency law;Contempt of Court;Bankruptcy/insolvency. Jocelyn has a particularly successful property and housing law practice. She regularly deals with anti-social behaviour orders; homelessness; evictions; and complex issues arising from mental health difficulties, including hoarding.Jocelyn also has experience of assisting clients at successful mediations, in a range of different contexts.Discrimination and HarassmentJocelyn has represented claimants in a wide range of successful discrimination and harassment claims. This experience includes an 8 day whistleblowing case, and numerous successful multi-track claims against educational establishments as well as various well-known organisations. Jocelyn has appeared at the Employment Appeal Tribunal on two occasions.Jocelyn also succeeded at a mediation of a disability discrimination claim relating to the ‘bedroom tax’, in which Jocelyn appeared opposite King’s Counsel.Court of Protection Jocelyn began her practice in 2019, dealing with matters of both welfare, and property & affairs. Jocelyn is a member of ‘CoPPA’. Jocelyn has been instructed in cases involving various capacity issues, and questions of appropriate care, decision making, and deputyship.InquestsJocelyn has provided representation in multiple inquests engaging a range of issues, including mental health provision, dual diagnosis and clinical negligence. Jocelyn secured an ‘Article 2’ inquest for one bereaved family, in a particularly complex case.
