As a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, I have been told for the past few years that "what starts here changes the world." And I firmly believe that; obtaining a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences has provided me a strong education in human relations, how people work, and why we as a society act the way we do. This, combined with my passion for health care has supplied me with the knowledge, experience, and drive to make a difference in our health care system. Throughout college I have gained clinical and customer service experience, which has allowed me to meet people from all walks of life. From playing with elementary-aged children during my time as an afterschool assistant teacher, to assessing elderly patients as an optometric technician, to coordinating with the middle working class while serving as an administrative assistant, I enjoy learning new perspectives and working with others to get the job done. The industry of Health Informatics is needed now more than ever, and I am determined to be a part of that contribution to making health care more accessible, more affordable, and more efficient.
