Hi! I'm a curious and supportive coach and team player. I am deeply connected to the work I do with first generation youth. Being of service to communities of color has always been a passion of mine. Throughout my academic and career journey I have witnessed inequities and systems of oppression. These experiences have shaped my pursuit of equity and success for all marginalized communities. With my experience of mentoring and coaching in education and the non-profit sector, I have guided students to question the status quo of where they are in life, whether that's at school or in the work force, and to reflect on decisions they make not only themselves but their greater community. I take an active role to make sure my student and staff voices are heard in organizational decision making processes, and policies. That includes making sure leadership are held accountable in the face of injustices. I was born into a big family and love to be around people. Community is something I cherish and appreciate all the talents that different people have to offer and share. It's something I look forward to celebrating life whenever I can. Some other ways I enjoy spending my time are in the kitchen cooking and baking some delicious recipes while listening and dancing to salsa music. My quarantine pup provides the best company on a long hike, camping trips or binging the newest Netflix show on the couch.
