Volunteer Coordinator
CurrentIn collaboration with the Managing Attorney, this role is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment, outreach, and training strategy for Volunteer Child Advocates in Los Angeles, ensuring effective community engagement and volunteer readiness. This includes establishing and maintaining strong relationships with community partners and local recruiting sources, hosting recruitment events both in-person and virtually, and managing the screening process to assess applicants' language proficiency and suitability for the role. The role also involves developing training materials and calendars, managing the training budget, coordinating logistics, and recommending appropriate volunteer-child matches. Furthermore, it includes organizing volunteer engagement and appreciation activities, such as local events to foster a supportive community, while ensuring all active volunteers maintain up-to-date multi-state background clearances to meet program safety standards.
