One part creative architect, equal parts strategist — Jocelyn Boone, professionally known as Jay B The Filminist, is a dynamic force within the entertainment industry. The multifaceted entrepreneur has leveraged her affinity for music and visual storytelling into a powerhouse management company, The Mastermind Agency, while also providing services to emerging artists and establishing pathways of success for women of color.As a dedicated student of the game, Jocelyn got her start behind the lens as a photographer and videographer. Her cinematic displays of high school basketball games quickly evolved into concert photography and viral snapshots of hip-hop’s leading contenders, such as The Migos, Lil Baby, Young Dolph, The Weeknd, and more, during her time in Atlanta, where she obtained a degree in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University. During her formative years as an undergrad, Jocelyn was tasked with the balancing act of earning a dual degree from both CAU and Georgia State, while also simultaneously building her personal brand equity. It was from there that her natural succession into artist management began to blossom, most notably with Atlantic Records/1017 signee Big Scarr.From taking steps across the stage to accept her college diploma to standing behind stage left to develop Big Scarr, Jocelyn’s career is a testament to the notion of building from the ground up. In her short tenure, she’s earned three RIAA-certified gold plaques, Scarr being crowned an XXL Freshman in 2022, secured two nationwide tours, with appearances at Rolling Loud NY and Rolling Loud LA to follow, and a supporting film soundtrack slated to be released in 2023. Following the untimely death of Big Scarr in 2022, Jocelyn continues to persevere and press forward with her mission to change the narrative of young women of color in the music industry while advocating for the prioritization of mental health in the entertainment community.While the future of her work is boundless, Jocelyn is also combining her unique experiences and wide -range of expertise into a highly anticipated eBook, "The Blueprint which is available for pre-order at www.jaybthefilminist.com, and is set to release in 2024. The Blueprint is dedicated to artists looking to launch sustainable careers in the music industry. Jocelyn cannot be put in a box.
