I worked directly with ~20 youth (aged 17-24) who were navigating poverty and homelessness/housing insecurity by providing case management, care coordination, and basic needs services. The center served ~80 unique individuals during the 2020-2021 FY. I successfully counseled young people toward wellness by:• Creating a sustainable in-house paid-internship program for youth experiencing homelessness through SC Works-Eckerd Connects• guiding them in applying for public benefits (SNAP, TANF, Disability, child support benefits)• identifying local low-barrier employers and connecting them with part-time and full-time job opportunities• connecting them with community-based solutions to the barriers homelessness/housing insecurity creates/amplifies like addiction, lack of familial support, education challenges

Assisted professional-staff study abroad advisors and the Vanderbilt University Global Safety Manager by program ideation, implementation and continuation, forming sustainable relationships with campus partners that, particularly, encourage more students of color to study abroad; coordinated the life-stages of a survey, created media content, sharpened public speaking and presentation skills

Served as an ambassador of the University to enhance the campus visit experience for prospective students and their families and assisted admission counselors and staff by giving weekly campus tours, participating in phone banking, working campus-wide accepted student days, answering prospective student and parent questions via email, and sitting on multiple student panels.

Coordinated visits to twenty schools throughout Edinburgh to promote literacy by celebrating World Book Day; aided in science education by providing materials to the flagship venues at the Edinburgh International Science Festival and worked to address education-accessibility gaps in Edinburgh.

Coordinated with two admission counselors to plan and execute the university's large scale multicultural recruitment efforts, Multicultural Achievement Program, Multicultural Student Evening and the first-annual Furman Diversity Connection; coordinated student involvement with the university's multicultural recruitment efforts as student leader of MOSAIC and maintained correspondence with the organization's eighty-two members; worked with a budget of $30,000.
