I balance leadership engagement and employee connections through a variety of platforms and learning moments. Collaborating closely with global operations teams, I constantly seek out ways to provide local perspectives to improve the Brickster experience in APJ. Blessed to witness the APJ teams grow 10x since the time I joined.

Business partner for the editorial, technical operations, business development and corporate functions across CNBC APAC, I engaged with the leaders to ensure effective recruitment, organisational design, learning and employee engagement to drive towards CNBC International’s business strategies. I constantly looked for ways to elevate the employee experience from onboarding to offboarding, which also benefitted operations for the HR teams across CNBC International. As part of the NBCUniveral’s HR Leadership Team in APAC, we worked collaboratively to bring APAC initiatives for leaders’ and employees’ development.

How exciting to have journeyed with such a dedicated HR team during our high growth phase! I was the go-to person for Singapore, India and Australia, and the employee engagement partner for our Shanghai engineering team. Unity Singapore received the Fair Employer Pledge from TAFEP and shortly after we won the Tripartite Alliance Award 2018, recognising us as one of the best employers in Singapore! This was also our first employer award win in APAC. Honoured to be part of the team that is always ready for changes... We implemented a more fluid and relevant performance review framework. We launched individual and group learning opportunities for employees by tapping on both internal and external resources. I formalised Flexible Work Arrangements (Work-Life Strategies) for the Singapore team. We refreshed our benefits and I partnered with the vendor to launch the benefits portal. I revamped the onboarding process to make it more welcoming for new joiners, and proactively found ways to make them more engaged and successful on a personalised basis. I am humbled to see through inaugural initiatives in employee events – charity event with children’s home and other new experiences.I also had a global view through managing and improving HRIS usage and support, global headcount reporting, board approvals and executive reports; and analysing and proposing global job roles/ titles, salaries, relocation packages and commission structure.

Built the HR Ops function for APAC - the data, process and networks that enables the success of HR, Finance, Legal, our people and managers... From ensuring HR data accuracy across our systems, working cross-functionally to minimize business risks/ ensuring local labour law compliance, getting our people/ managers comfortable with using Workday to refreshing onboarding for new joiners and foundational training for new managers, this HR Operations Role was really the invisible infrastructure that helps business grow!

Develop and improve on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), non-financial KPIs reporting, strategy communication and HR analysis to the executive team, board members, investors and internal staff.

Analysed and attracted Fortune 500-type companies in energy, agri-commodities and metals & mining sectors to anchor trading operations in Singapore.

This was my first official experience as an intrapreneur, where I got hooked to the startup environment and discovered my passion for HR! I headed a cross-cultural team to develop business opportunities across various sectors in Mexico, Central America, Colombia and the Caribbean, leading the team to acquire key expertise in energy and urban infrastructure. I also controlled office's HR, finance and administration matters. Other than introducing best practices which laid the foundation for a better audit score (zero finance compliance issues for almost two years!), I brought local HR policies up to global standards, recruited, trained and empowered local employees; and reduced attrition to 0%.

Singapore-based lead for business opportunities in the Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela markets across various sectors, including: energy, infrastructure, transportation, real estate, financial, consumer goods.

Hosting this event in conjunction with APEC 2009, I revamped this multi-day event in favour of a one-day function - pioneering the top-management-level panel discussions approach which resulted in impactful networking and deal brokering. Working closely with corporate communications, we created a memorable event branding that was used for the next three years. This event also saw the Inter-American Development Bank and IE Singapore MOU on urban planning collaboration.

IE Singapore is the trade and investment promotion agency which partners Singapore companies in their overseas expansion journey. I joined this team without any engineering background, but I loved the steep learning curve and was honoured with the opportunities to interact with dedicated business leaders. I actively account managed Singapore SME high-tech manufacturers and partnered them with the likes of BMW, Elcoteq, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Siemens.
