With a mailing list steadily growing into 4-figure numbers, approached by Asya Shein, founder of the then brand new Fusicology.com, in late 2003 to partner in order to launch the official Detroit chapter of the forward web and guerrilla marketing company. Pre-launch media was posted in 2005 for the Detroit chapter, with the full launch in 2006. Pont:Productions began as an "underground" dance music and multi-media event production house in downtown Detroit, having created over 2 dozen independent parties featuring forward musicians, DJs, performing and visual artists. Eventually, Pont:Productions would be contracted to produce specific cultural events in the metro Detroit area, such as "Techno Couture" for the 2003 Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF), now Movement Electronic Music Festival, as well as several benefit fundraisers for local non-profits and charities. With the move of the founder to New Orleans during late 2005 - 2006, Pont:Productions began producing select, smaller events in New Orleans, as well as partnering with local promoters to co-produce a humble variety of events. However, Pont:Productions still continues to produce events intermittently in Detroit, as well as other select cities, usually during festivals or conferences. Though Pont:Productions has also produced market research events for clients such as Ammo Marketing, Ogilvy PR and Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, and can provide full-scale event production services, we specialize in intimate, creative, interactive music, art, film and fashion events of multiple scales. This career opportunity provided the experience of learning CAD design and physical installation basics at an accelerated pace due to the sheer volume of clients applying for construction through Lowe's in post-Katrina New Orleans during the "building boom." This experience also presented many challenges and obstacles due to the high volume, rapid demand, and under-education of the average home-owner, as well as the high number of under-qualified or inexperienced building contractors and installation workers. A multitude of stresses in the post-Katrina building environment required quick learning, on-the-job decision-making, and client stress management. Not just an "desk" job, we also visited out job sites several times per week to assist in overseeing installation of our designs. In addition to being required by retail management to also perform sale duties. Attended every continuing education seminar offered to Lowe's designers over the duration of this opportunity.
