Child’s Play NY directs, teaches and provides innovative theater arts classes for children to schools and private groups and individuals.Education Clients include: Avenues the World School, Berkeley Carroll School, Packer Collegiate Institute, East Village Community School, Early Childhood Learning Center, Friends Seminary, Imagine Early Learning Center. Public schools in Brooklyn include: PS58, PS 29, PS10, PS 133.• Direct, and oversee production of, a minimum of six plays a year, including musicals, adapted Shakespeare plays and original works written by students. • Recruit and manage professional mentors, parents and other volunteers to assist in various aspects of production and support, such as set design and construction, costumes, and choreography.• Develop and document, as needed, the curriculum for all theater and acting programs and classes.• Design and execute summer camp programming servicing for over 100 children in three Brooklyn locations. • Manage budgets, schedules, program promotion, participant recruitment and all other company management responsibilities.• Recruit and train all instructors and monitor performance.

Provides highly effective preparation for MFA entrance audition, including advising on monologue selection, interpretation and delivery. Coach an average of 5 students/year who successfully enroll in Graduate Acting programs at NYU, Brown, Rutgers, and other prestigious programs.

Provided tutoring to prepare students for various standardized tests including ISEE, SHSAT, SAT and in Spanish. Coached high-school seniors on college entrance essays and interviews.

The program uses theater to develop social awareness in New York City public high schools.• Originate and teach curriculum for “Trial of Robespierre” residency to 10th graders at Brooklyn Automotive High School, and direct final production of original works in response to the French Revolution.• Perform Desdemona in Othello and Ismene in Antigone in residencies at The Urban Assembly School and Chelsea High School, and facilitate student talk-backs and playwriting lessons to 9th and 11th graders.

The program focused on the works of Anton Checkov and Vaclav Havel. • Facilitated insight for MFA Directors into the works of these playwrights through performance of The Three Sisters and Largo Desolato.

Developed and taught a class on solo performance for high school sophomores in conjunction with Mud-Bone Theatre Collective.
