I am currently a staff therapist who educates, assesses, provides diagnostic treatment and consultation, as well as life support to the adult, pediatric and neonatal population.I had sat on ER council as well as ICU council from 2002 – 2009. This position included participating in Accreditation twice.In 1998/1999 I assisted in the start-up and organization of the chronic ventilation unit at Freeport

 Provided education to the staff therapists (ie. NRP, oscillator, new equipment) as well as facilitate in-services in and out of hospital. Updated/created policy and procedures Responsible for the day to day operation of the department, ensuring practice issues were dealt with, stocking, decision making (ie OT), relieving of staff members for breaks, and providing the same care that a staff therapist would provide (listed below). I created, organized, submitted and provided feedback with the schedule for the Respiratory Therapy Department for 6 years (started in 2003) Attended and provided education at the CF clinics when the main RT was unable to attend. I had been involved with the start-up of the Oscillator by making the policy and procedure, chairing meetings, creating work sheets, educating staff members which included RRT’s, Allied staff, RN’s and Physicians. I also was responsible for having all needed materials approved by the Practice Committee.
