During my PhD I investigated the process of carbon capture and utilization (CCU), where CO2 is captured from ambient air or from the exhaust of industry and converted to commodity chemicals and fuels using e.g. green hydrogen.During this research I trained and evaluated over 200 students in (problem) classes and 2 bachelor's and one master's student successfully defended their thesis under my supervision.During my PhD research I was granted the opportunity to communicate my work to an international audience by giving oral presentations in Athens (International Conference on Green Chemistry) and Noordwijkerhout (Netherlands' Chemistry and Catalysis Conference)Keywords- Circular economy- Sustainable chemistry- Project Management- Supervision

One year master's thesis on the aromatization of ketones over zeolite catalysts. The main techniques being; heterogeneous catalysis, TEM/EDX, PXRD, physisorption, TPD and TPR.

Seven times a year I organise special days where highschool students can study for one day, to give more insight on the Chemistry bachelors programme at Utrecht University. This planning includes organising lectures and problem classes, but also the creation of experiments executed by the highschool students.Another part of the job description is co-organising the Open Days for Chemistry and Molecular Life Sciences. Every year there are three Open Days at which approximately 600 visitors (both parents and highschool students) are informed by myself and a team of 30 bachelor- and master-students which I (co-)supervise.The last task to this function is occasionally visiting highschools to provide information about the bachelors programme of Chemistry at Utrecht University
