I am a media professional working in television & digital media for 20+ years. My main focus is on The Benelux region, but since 2007 my experience has widened to a pan-European level and responsibility.I helped launch several tv channels (both in distribution and in a more general role): TMF Belgium, Nickelodeon, Veronica, Talpa, the digital portfolio of MTV Networks, Discovery Channel Belgium, TLC Netherlands, and ID.I'm a team player with General Management experience since 2007. My goal was to position Discovery Networks Benelux as an exciting and qualitative media player in the Benelux region and grow the company into a multi-platform network for everyone. DNB grew from 12 employees in 2007 to 75 employees by the end of 2013, we won numerous industry awards, and more than 95% of the employees would recommend DNB to family and friends as an excellent place of work. Financial performance grew even faster. Around March 2013, I started working on the business plan of a joint Ad Sales house with Viacom (and later Fox), and in September 2013, Branddeli was born. This new chapter for DNB also marked a perfect time for me to leave Discovery and look for new adventures.On 1 October 2015, I founded We Are Free Agents with Patrick Alders. We Are Free Agents was a media development company sent on missions for clients to traverse the media chaos to set out a course and find opportunities. In 2017 I got the opportunity to switch gears somewhat, and I took the position of Media Director at KRO-NCRV, a public broadcaster in The Netherlands. This put me in a prominent role in the non-profit sector with responsibility for the content strategy, production & innovation in the linear tv, radio and digital arenas. Our team(s) made the strategic shift from being a production house to a media organisation that has a clear role (purpose) in Dutch society.I consider my specialities to be energy and creativity.
