As one of the four Director/Shareholders I dove in at the beginning to learn all about the nuts and bolts (pun intended) when we acquired the 20+ year old, Smith Timber. We immediately re-branded as Tamaki ITM and started trading in August 2014.The team of 27 drove this Timber and Building Supplies business through the tough years of the recession, and we were proud to take over the reins from the previous owners and carry on growing and developing the company.These days, I serve as an interested director/shareholder.

OutSource People is the arm of the business that finds the right person to go and work onsite with customers - whether as a permanent employee within the business, as a contractor or one of our in-house team for recurring work.

OutSource IT is a long established IT Services provider, with very long customer relationships who keep delivering networking, engineering and Private Cloud services to manufacturing, services and financial sector companies in the upper North Island.Under OutSource IT's umbrella services, we created a specialist boutique recruitment company, with no ambitions to be a large company, but rather to do excellent work with good clients and good candidates and get people working in the best roles possible. Very IT centric, and playing to our strengths and using our networksLofty ambitions, but doing good work is just good business.

Having participated in Women on Boards NZ since it launched, in the the Auckland Region, and living in the Waikato, I was delighted to be part of getting the organisation launched and moving in the Waikato region.Our goal, to encourage, train and assist women to see themselves in Board positions. This might be a short or long term aspiration depending on the experience level, and phase of life in which each person is.Women on Boards NZ was incorporated as a division of Governance New Zealand, and continues on under that banner.

I have recently joined the Board of Trustees for Assistance Dogs New Zealand, who provide dogs for children and adults with disabilities. In the same way as dogs are trained to assist the Blind, these dogs are trained specifically to meet the needs of a range of disabilities. Autism is an example, but widely varying disabilities can benefit from canine support. Having raised a puppy for RNZFB Guide Dog Services in 09/10, this was a charity I have an affinity for.
