Jode's role evolved to include directing communications efforts for local, regional and national campaigns while creating and implementing several high impact and award-winning projects, including the Homegrown National Park Project, 30x30 Nature Challenge, #GotMilkweed, #Knit4monarchs, Butterflyway Project and BIMBY (Bees in My Backyard) Project.

Initiated and founded Block Party Supply, a non-profit lending library that provides materials needed to host a block party or small community event in Toronto's Christie Pits neighbourhood.

Jode's responsibilities at Ecojustice grew from providing basic communications support for Toronto-based campaigns to directing all organizational communications efforts, including media relations, branding, marketing, online and social media outreach. He was a member of the senior management team for five years, helping craft the organization's first-ever.

Penetanguishene, Ontario

Jode implemented a user-pay program for municipal waste collection, which increased diversion from landfill by 35% in two years. He also managed the town's Y2K-preparedness plan and assisted with various habitat naturalization projects, in coordination with local conservation agencies. He founded a community garden and environmental education project.
