I have more than 24 years of graduate and undergraduate course design and instruction at three Research I universities: Terry College, UGA; Poole College, NC State University; and the College of Business, Clemson University. Areas of teaching, consulting and research include: Organizational development, organizational behavior, human resources, leadership, diversity and inclusion, engagement, change management, communications (verbal and written), and reframing conflict for optimal relationships. I am an authentic communicator, a creative thinker, and I enjoy helping others develop new skills and behaviors. I also find time to write, consult and organize community conversations (usually as a facilitator). I founded 14 Words For Love to promote the creation and sharing of small poems, art and conversation within and across communities. Outside of higher education, I have worked in oil field services and energy (Schlumberger), publishing (online, print news and trade), pharmaceuticals (King, Glaxo, and Quintiles), IT (Cisco) and software industries. My work titles have included comp/benefits specialist, HR generalist, manager, director and communications director. As a consultant, I've worked closely with senior managers and directors and with executives to develop optimal human solutions around business needs and strategy. My community work includes civil rights advocacy, restorative practices, and writing-in-residencies in schools.
