A Career Resource Specialist handles a variety of roles, including helping clients to develop career goals, prepare to search for a job, interview and secure employment, and retain their jobs. This position also requires networking within the community, generating and cultivating strong relationships with local businesses and developing partnerships with employers to secure community-based, long-term employment for the individuals we support. n this position, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Business Developer – Contacting employers in the community to identify job leads, and assist individuals with disabilities, at risk youth, and students in securing employment.Direct Support – Providing direct support to individuals with disabilities to develop career goals, prepare for their job search, secure their job, coach the individuals as they learn the tasks and responsibilities of their positions, and facilitate communication between the individual and his/her employer.School Services – Working with students, often with disabilities, in local school districts to provide career exploration, job coaching and direct support.Youth Services – Working directly with youth to develop career goals teaching pre-vocational and job retention skills, providing life skills training, helping them secure employment, and coaching the youth to help them be successful at work.Team Leader CRS – In addition to providing support to clients, you may provide support to team members by assisting them in their work with clients and employers, and may help them develop monthly performance objectives.
