Provisional School Counsellor
Key Responsibilities:• Maintaining a caseload of 3-4 students each term to hold regular counselling sessions with or check in with them periodically to offer support.• Holding counselling sessions with students (either from caseload or walk in students) for 45-75 minutes in length, followed up with case notes. • Twice daily meetings with Student Outreach / Re-engagement team to determine status and plans for students experiencing school refusal and needing additional support. • Liaising with case managers and parent support team regarding students on the Outreach / Re-engagement list to ensure a wholistic approach is given to support students and their families. • Attending daily briefing and debriefing sessions with Wellbeing Team leadership. • Attending 75 minutes of group supervision each fortnight with a qualified counselling supervisor. Working as a provisional counsellor in the Student Wellbeing Team. Supporting the mental health of students and parents.Key Achievements• At the completion of my Diploma of Counselling was accepted to remain with the Brentwood Wellbeing team as a qualified school counsellor. • Promoted to Mentor and Sub Manager for Term 4 after completing Term 3 as a general Wellbeing worker.

Key Responsibilities • Complete responsibility for picking up new client enquiries, contacting clients via their preferred method and times to schedule sessions, processing payments, preparing for, and holding sessions with clients (either in person or on Zoom), writing up case notes and scheduling, researching, and planning for future sessions. • Attending one hour of group supervision each week with a qualified counselling supervisor. Key Achievements• Whilst initially a provisional counsellor on the LCCP team, I was accepted to remain on as a volunteer counsellor once my Diploma of Counselling was completed. • Maintaining a consistent caseload of 3-8 clients at any one time. Some clients I have now seen in excess of 18 times. • Able to mentor new provisional counsellors to the LCCP team about starting out as a counsellor and seeing clients.

Maintenance of the production support group project workbook which was regularly quality audited. Provide regular performance feedback to Team Leaders. Worked closely with the Project Management Offices (both EDS and GM) to ensure projects utilize the latest policies, processes and templates.
