Lead the award-winning, 50,000 member Zoological Society of Milwaukee (Society) that supports the Milwaukee County Zoo, funds and operates regional and global conservation efforts for wildlife and endangered species, and educates people about the importance of wildlife and the environment. The Society gives more than $3.5 million annually to the Zoo and serves as a 50/50 partner on multi-million dollar capital projects at the Zoo. Manage a team of 45 full-time, 30 part-time staff and ~100 seasonal staff; oversee day-to-day operations. Build and engage a dynamic board of directors and lead an ongoing capital campaign. Manage $15 million+ budget and develop/implement financial model to ensure long-term sustainability. Completing the largest capital campaign in the Society’s history. On track to raise more than $25 million to transform 25% of the developed footprint of the Zoo, including award-winning new elephant, African hoofstock and hippo exhibits.

Successfully led the strategy development, branding, launch, delivery, and measurement of Kellogg’s initial global philanthropic platform, Breakfasts for Better Days (BFBD), a worldwide hunger-relief initiative to provide a billion servings of breakfast and snacks to children and families who need it most. Realized immediate business impact from BFBD launch by developing consumer-facing cause-marketing campaigns in more than 30 countries that increased year-over-year sales and enhanced brand equity. Coordinated first company-wide global service project for employees in honor of World Food Day. Developed a mobile Disaster Relief Center. Served as Executive Director of the company’s foundations, Kellogg’s Corporate Citizenship Fund (KCCF) and Kellogg’s 25-Year Employees’ Fund.

Led cross-functional team to develop enterprise-wide, multi-faceted corporate social responsibility program focusing on energy consumption, waste management, supply chain issues related to apparel production and suppliers, diversity and community relations. Simultaneously oversaw community relations program.

Directed the strategic development of company-wide community relations program with a signature focus on the issue of afterschool and youth development. Oversaw employee giving programs including payroll deduction campaign and volunteerism; managed company’s disaster relief response. Served as President of the JCPenney Company Fund and the JCPenney Afterschool Fund.

Developed strategic alliances with corporate partners to enhance the brand image and drive business objectives of corporations while advancing the charitable mission of Feeding America; co-created multi-million dollar cause-marketing campaigns with corporate partners to engage customers, employees and vendors.
