I began in the work force working in accounting and accounts receivable. I was able to work my way up to manager through hard work and proving my skills. Through this career, I increased my knowledge and skills in finance as well as improved my customer service skills. After 12 years, I decided it was time for a career change. I was able to become a certified transcriptionist, which I did for 9 years. This was done at home, so I learned to have good time management and organizational skills as well as learned a lot about the medical and psychological fields. Most recently, almost 7 years ago, I wanted to get back out in the world so I took a job with a community mental health agency. I started as clerical and have worked my way up to Fiscal Support Specialist/Executive Assistant. I use many of my skills from my previous jobs in this position such as having excellent customer service skills, good time management, being a team player, and even the finance skills are used. I am in charge of purchasing, organizing information and events for top leaders and the board, singing people up for conferences and trainings with hotels and travel schedules as well as many other duties. I hope to continue expanding my skills and abilities at my current job.
