Ms. Ovca is an established attorney, mediator, facilitator and trainer with proven results across multiple sectors; including private and federal industries, education, and non-profit. As a mediator, she has helped resolve hundreds of employment, workplace, criminal, civil, and family disputes for private, corporate and government clients.Most recently, Ms. Ovca developed, implemented and managed an ombudsman program for Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington (PPMW).She has also provided facilitation, training in communication skills, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation for schools and agencies including:• Multiple Planned Parenthood affiliates • Federal Reserve• Federal Deposit Insurance Corportation• Department of Homeland Security• Transportation Security Administration• Corporation for National and Community Service• District of Columbia Public SchoolsShe has also developed, promoted and managed mediation programs for multiple government agencies. She launched and managed the alternative dispute resolution program for the Corporation of Community and National Service (“CNCS”). She trains and coaches federal and corporate personnel in conflict management, negotiation and communication techniques. She has established specialized assimilation programs to facilitate training for new managers and works extensively with clients as a leadership coach and facilitator in change management. Ms. Ovca is also the Founder and Executive Director of Access Youth, a non-profit in the District of Columbia committed to restorative justice which has served over 5000 students since 2009. Their mission is to provide at-risk youth with the skills, resources and support they need to stay in school and out of the justice system.As an attorney, she has negotiated numerous international employment contracts and been a delegate to international treaty negotiations for the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Ovca was an Adjunct Professor, leading the Mediation Clinic at The George Washington University Law School. Ms. Ovca is a member of the Board of Leadership Greater Washington and she was recently awarded the Washington Women of Excellence Award by Mayor Muriel Bowser for her contributions to the community and served as the Treasurer for Mayor Bowser’s most recent re-election. Most recently, Ms. Ovca was named to Mayor Bowser’s ReOpen DC Committee tasked to create a safe and sustainable plan to reopen the District of Columbia in the midst of COVID-19.
