I am the founding member of a business intelligence team that is responsible for designing and implementing a data infrastructure for the organization as well as developing a framework for relevant KPIs and other business reporting. I worked with product managers and other stakeholders to guide the design, implementation, and analysis of experiments to investigate how to drive conversion, increase student engagement, and enhance skill mastery in digital learning products. To accomplish this, I built a formalized process from the ground up in order to standardize the experimentation workflow and increase reliability and throughput. I also lead various data science and analytics initiatives, including the design of site telemetry and related data collection.

I was the lead economist for the analytics group of a major video game studio. Projects were generally focused on causal inference and included estimating return on ad spending (via media mix models, experimentation, etc.), identifying the primary drivers of organic game installs, and developing a sophisticated A/B testing framework. As a member of the data science team, I participated in one-off analytics projects as needed, including leading the effort to leverage Apple's SKAdNetwork to optimally support user acquisition in a changing mobile advertising market. In addition, I was tasked with developing a plan for a new scenario planning analytics practice that would guide revenue and profit forecasts for the organization.

I've worked as a teaching fellow and instructor at Harvard College, Harvard Extension School, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. As FRST's economist (Chief Economist), I worked with the company's data science team to create market indicators and other predictive analytics tools using transaction-level data from the ethereum network. In addition, I provided guidance regarding product design and pricing and I created educational materials for customer onboarding and training.

I worked with Akamai's internal telemetry data to provide guidance on product recommendations, product performance, and pricing- in particular, pricing strategy for new to market and customized products. I also brought economic concepts to a broader data science/product management team in order to round out expertise and define project goals.

I was in charge of content for economics.about.com. Duties involved writing articles about various economic topics as well as maintaining a blog and newsletter that related the economics content to current events.

As the Assistant Director of the CREATE Center, I led a team to secure funding and perform data-driven research in the music industry, and I presented my findings in print and at conferences such as South by Southwest. As a university lecturer, I taught courses in macroeconomic theory and behavioral economics both for undergraduates and graduate students. I also taught courses in the economics of the music industry for music business graduate students.

I served as an economic advisor to the We the Economy series, a joint effort between Paul Allen's Vulcan Productions and Morgan Spurlock's Cinelan Productions. I assisted with treatment and script development and provided on-set guidance. I even got to be in one of the films!

To provide a more hands-on experience, I integrated the economics curriculum with a number of quantitative exercises using Microsoft Excel in order to illustrate both how students could use what they were being taught and some of the challenges that they were likely to face from a practical standpoint.
