This role gave me insight into all elements of running a successful business. I was responsible for coordinating and administering all hotel services including reservations, marketing, handling customer queries and complaints as well as recruiting, training and supervising the team. Leading all day-to-day operations developed my aptitude for problem solving and prioritising.

Curriculum knowledge, educational theory and classroom management were key areas of study allowing me to thrive in a challenging school environment. I planned and delivered engaging lessons, monitored pupil progress and contributed to the departmental planning. During my 2 years, I also started a school language club and coached the netball teams. Observing and liaising with pupils, teachers and the local community helped me to support to Teach First mission to end educational inequality.

During my time at university, I worked as a student advisor regularly visiting local schools to support university applications and particularly promote language learning. I ran seminars and workshops on CV writing, essay and interview skills, choosing careers and suitable courses. I also mentored a small group from each school through their UCAS application.
