By way of some background, I am a confident and capable individual with over 10 years of experience in both Insurance and Legal roles. My previous employment, RPC, is a leading London Law Firm well established for handling large volume insurance legal claims. My role as Subrogation Fee Earner involved handling in excess of 150 domestic and commercial subrogation recovery cases, from first advice to settlement, in both pre-litigation stages and during litigation. This role allowed me to utilise both my legal knowledge and insurance experience, both of which I was able to develop and improve. At the start of 2016, I had my daughter and decided to take some time out of the workforce to be with and raise my family. However, my daughter has now started school full-time and I am more than ready to resume my career and take up a new challenge. My professional journey started when I attended Law School and, subsequently, passed my Bar exams. This intensive course provided me with a number of skills which include Research and Analysis, Communication, Advocacy, Negotiation and Drafting to name but a few. On completion of my Bar exams I went in a slightly different direction and joined an Insurance company in their claims department. However, my skills were certainly transferable to such a role and I benefited greatly from transitioning my academic skills and knowledge into practice. Moving on from my role primarily in Insurance, I converted back to an insurance/legal hybrid during my time at both the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and RPC. In both of these roles i was responsible for managing high volume and complex complaints/legal claims from their initial report to conclusion. I am therefore well equipped at analysing large volumes of information and evidence, making informed decisions based on the merits of claims, assessing coverage, drafting reports and legal documentation and building relationships with clients, third parties and outside stakeholders. I can work in high pressure situations and am used to adhering to court appointed deadlines and client SLA's. On a personal note, I have been fortunate for the opportunity to concentrate on and raise my family but, after seven years, I am excited to see what the future holds in relation to the next stage of my career.
