About Jodie Dickens

After several years within the early careers space where I have worked both for independent training providers and with employers in a consultative capacity, I have gained a wealth of knowledge around learner recruitment, mapping and creating curriculums, delivering training sessions, programme management, learner and employer engagement, apprenticeship standards across multiple industries, and the workings of the apprenticeship levy. I have management experience from leading a team of six, and have spent my time in the sector mentoring both early careers and more established talent to realise, work towards and achieve their potential.Positioning myself as an extension of my clients' HR/L&D teams, I am a design thinker with a consultative, collaborative and equitable approach who thrives on building out processes to meet business objectives, and when supporting with professional development, career progression and the enhancement of future skills.

Consultant Apprenticeship Programme Manager

Employed by Randstad Sourceright as a Senior Consultant, I was on secondment to global financial services firm Fidelity International, as their Apprenticeship Programme Manager. This role required me to implement methods in which apprenticeship levy funds were used more effectively, by introducing an Accredited Learning Programme across Fidelity International’s UK arm of the business. This involved building an understanding of and mapping standards to the different business areas (inclusive of apprenticeship programmes from levels 3 through to 7 across leadership & management, financial services and business support functions such as HR, L&D, IT/digital & technology and sales, marketing & procurement, etc.), collaborating with the Early Careers, Learning & Development and Talent Acquisition teams, pitching/presenting and promoting the offering to stakeholders at varying levels, liaising with external training providers, overseeing the internal recruitment of existing employees onto relevant standards, and ensuring longevity of the programmes by assessing how else these could be leveraged across the company. This subsequently evolved into assisting with introducing apprenticeships to the company’s offices in India, for which I mapped and developed curriculums too. Here I enhanced my skills in stakeholder management and operations, and built skills in project management, programme management and curriculum mapping, design and development.

A very fast-paced and diverse post, it involved working to deadlines and meeting targets.I would liaise with employers to take on new apprenticeship vacancies, advising them of the best programmes for their needs, guiding them on how to use their DAS account and utilise levy spend. I would also work with candidates by sourcing and screening them, and providing information, advice & guidance where applicable. As well as this, I oversaw the recruitment of our internal apprentices. This role saw me enhance my collaboration skills, and build skills in leadership, people management and operations.
