I am a lifelong and passionate educator, with a decade of high-energy and hyper-organized substitute teaching experience at a diverse range of charter schools.

Introduced, implemented and ran this critically-important conflict-resolution program at the ground-breaking, project-based, Constructivist Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts. Community Circle is a safe space for students to acknowledge the experiences, thoughts, and feelings they bring to the classroom. I helped students and teachers establish strategies to support each child’s hopes and dreams, designed problem-solving techniques (and reflected on their use), explored social-emotional issues, and helped students develop mindfulness, voice, and agency in their learning and their lives.

As a key player on the start-up team of this innovative school, I taught Social Studies and English while mentoring my co-teacher over the course of her first post-college teaching job.

Over the course of a dynamic 6+ years as a second grade leader and Mentor Teacher at this premier Jewish day school, I wrote an innovative and exciting new curriculum for Multi-Cultural Social Studies, co-authored the Language Arts Scope and Sequence, taught first-fourth grade Drama and Math enrichment classes, and was an active and passionate leader of several educational 2nd grade committees (WASC, Health and Education, Mel Levine's Schools Attuned).

As an energetic and freshly-minted third and fifth grade teacher at this beloved 65+ year old Jewish day school, I created a hands-on math lab for grades 1-4 (and directed the school play!), while drawing heavily on my years as a student teacher and teaching assistant at three different (secular) Los Angeles area schools.
