I was responsible for booking events, drawing contracts and executing said events. I worked with both the members and the public in a variety of special events such as weddings, birthday parties, celebratory showers, corporate seminars and meetings and leisure clubs. I enjoyed assisting my clients in planning their special days and executing important business meetings and outings. I also managed the staff and oversaw all financial collections both upon initial deposit at the time of event, in balance collections. I was also responsible for marketing and customer satisfaction and new business generation. I am a very big advocate for referral business through word of mouth from satisfied consumers. The event venue market has steep competition and reputation is of utmost importance in this service industry. I was promoted into this job from my position as retail merchandiser. In that capacity I was responsible for all sales, product placement, displays, appearance, accurate price tagging, signage opening and closing operations. I was responsible for the accountability and receipt of all revenue. As well as, accounting for returns, customer credits from cash, charge cards and Membership charges. I also oversaw the time management, schedules, diligence, and punctuality of the staff. I also implemented and enforced procedural policies and processes. It really was a fabulous supplement to my education. I worked on site as a representative for my builder and by nature on behalf of the developer as a sales consultant to turn dirt into homes. I also worked every moment in customer service, satisfaction, retention, quality assurance, lead generation, and maintenance and management of all displays, marketing materials and brochures. I was responsible for drawing up and presenting all legal contracts and paper work to the buyers. I sometimes even had the role of mental health therapist, whereas sometimes such a large purchase as a home causes some very high anxiety and they really benefit from some sincere concern, care and interest in their well-being and ultimate happiness really helps. As their coach, mentor and trainer, I nurture the development of core skills through continual and consistently growth and improvement on to eventual mastery of such. It is definitely a mutual experience, as I also feel joy in their successes. From their initial fear and hesitation upon the start, to the inevitable increase in self-confidence and pride as they learn and improve and then the future command of successes, it is all very satisfying for everyone. From day one and thereafter, it truly is amazing to be a part of! These are just a few of the many benefits I enjoy in being a part of shaping our future athletes. As students of sports, I believe they acquire from an extensive list of valuable qualities. These include increased skills and technical knowledge, experience in competitive settings and cherished memories and meeting other athletes like themselves, to name just a very few.
