Rising insurance costs and expensive prescriptions force many of our neighbors to seek emergency medical assistance.Families seeking immediate, short-term medical care can get the help they need through Kansas City’s Medicine Cabinet, LLC. – a program of Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation.Support of Kansas City’s Medicine Cabinet provides much needed assistance in these main areas: * Dental emergencies * Diabetic supplies * Durable medical goods: includes hearing aids * Prescriptions * Vision CareThe Foundation searched for areas where health care support was lacking in the metro area and found that emergency medical assistance was the greatest need for low income individuals with little or no insurance. Kansas City’s Medicine Cabinet was launched to fill this gap.With the support of generous contributors, The Medicine Cabinet is making a positive impact on health throughout our community.Today Kansas City’s Medicine Cabinet continues to expand and serve even more families and individuals seeking crisis medical attention. With over 100 referring agencies – and new intake sites being added regularly – our reach is increasing.
