I am currently a SEND Advisory Teacher for Central Bedfordshire Council with responsibility for working in partnership with schools to develop inclusive practice. Previously I held the post of Deputy Headteacher at Cranfield Church of England Academy for 12 years with key responsibilities including Inclusion Lead, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Designated Teacher and Attendance Lead. I have over 25 years teaching experience and am passionate about inclusion and safeguarding, giving all children the opportunity to flourish and develop to their full potential. I have worked as Inclusion Lead / SENDCO across three local authorities and have been involved in the strategic development of provision at both school and local authority level. I have been an assessor for the Inclusion Quality Mark. I have mentored SENDCOs new to post and delivered CPD across the local authority and at the University of Bedfordshire. I have recently completed a research-based report, making recommendations about SEND provision for the Diocese of St. Albans Board of Education.
