I bring leadership and management experience to the table, as well as training / education, which I feel would be beneficial to any company. I have been with Briggs & Stratton (Murray, KY) for the last 14-years, have been in the HR department for the last 10-years, and am currently in an HR Generalist III / Assistant HR Manager role. I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Human Development & Leadership (administrative emphasis) and will graduate this December 2013. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Murray State University in 2002 and my goal was to go into law enforcement and eventually get into the FBI, but marriage changed those plans - have been married for 11.5-years have a 7.5-year old son. While in college, I played football for the Murray State Racers from 1996 through 1999 and after my college football career was over, I joined the Army Reserves (Military Police) and during the 6-years I was in the reserves, I was deployed to Bosnia for a year (2000 - 2001) where I was promoted to Sargent. Once our deployment was over, we flew back into the United States on September 11, 2001, which was a terrible day in U.S. history - landed at Fort Benning (in Georgia) just before the planes hit the towers in New York. After Bosnia, I was recommended for Officer Candidate School (OCS) and after completing this training, was commission as a 1st Lieutenant. Shortly after this (about 1.5-years later), due to family reasons (probability of being deployed several times for extended periods of time), my wife and I decided it was in the best interest of our family that I get out of the reserves once my six-year enlistment was up and that is what I did. At the time, it was a difficult decision for me, but looking back, it was probably one of the best decisions I made as I would have missed out on a lot of time with my family.
