While working at Cangene Corporation in Business Development, I actively participated in due diligence of new potential acquisitions. I synthesized business intelligence and business plans to articulate marketplace view, including the identification of opportunities and impediments to product development. I built strong business cases for internal projects to move existing pipeline products forward and built strong strategic partnerships to secure license opportunities for monetary purposes.

As a Project Manager with Genome Prairie, I managed 16 research scientists in the public and private sector. In this position, I reported on a quarterly basis with scientific, financial (budgetary), commercialization, intellectual property and public outreach updates for the project. I was actively involved in leveraging funds from various granting agencies to accelerate the scientific and industrial goals of the project and often managed several complex issues concurrently.

As an Environmental Risk Assessment Officer, I supported the decision-making, policy development and import/export protocol development of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) plant health and biotechnology programs. I was a positive team member and acted as a liaison between the Plant Biosafety Office (PBO) and Health Canada. I often worked independently or in a group with minimal direction to provide input to Risk Managers in the PBO on high visibility issues including the determination of novelty, conditions for confined field trails and variety registration.
