Research interests:Rural economics and development, agribusiness, cooperatives, farm management, and extension modelsGallup Strengths: Achiever, Learner, Focused, Futuristic, DisciplinedBackground:Growing up on a farm in northeast Nebraska sparked my interest in agriculture at a young age and it will always be a large part of who I am. My educational journey began at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Business Management. One of my fondest memories from my undergraduate career is studying abroad in Manly, Australia at the International College of Management - Sydney. I gained confidence, independence, a global network, and so much more from living and studying in another country for three months. After Lincoln, I ventured to St. Paul, Minnesota where I attended Luther Seminary and received a graduate certificate in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. Upon re-entry into the great state of Nebraska, I held a short-term position working in the hospitality industry and then took my first step back into the agriculture sector by taking a position with Nebraska Extension and the 4-H program in Platte County. From there, I have been able to narrow down my futuristic career goals. I enjoy mentoring youth and young adults. The growth in the agriculture industry is intriguing. And my love for lifetime learning is always burning inside me. Therefore, I started my masters degree through Kansas State University in Agribusiness in January of 2017 and graduated in May 2019. I graduated with my doctorate degree in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University in 2022. I now serve as an Assistant Professor in Agribusiness and Economics at the University of Nebraska - Kearney. I have a passion for the outdoors and for serving others while utilizing my business skills and past experiences. Some of my professional interests include working on projects, planning for events, learning new things, and building relationships. I am detail-oriented and very motivated and driven to accomplish tasks to the best of my ability. My ideal professional environment would be one where I am constantly challenged and that includes solving problems. Above all, I would like to contribute to the world, leave a lasting impact, and make a difference in others' lives.
