Also responsible for the civil engineering element of full fibre rollout for HS2 diversionary network in Birmingham.

Co-Director of an offroad motorsports centre for 4x4, enduro, motocross and quad bikes. A combination of pay-and-play, extreme driving experiences and race competition events. Instigated and implemented a business diversity plan by acquiring and significantly expanding a UK-wide garden furniture manufacturing business, Diversification also included the development of 3 x fishing lakes and attaining planning permission to reinstate 2 x quarries with infill and recycling operations. The company was successfully acquired in April 2022.

Director of bids for Carillion government, defence and corporate work winning and bids. In 12 months, was responsible for securing contracts in total facilities management, and catering, retail and leisure bids. Responsible for developing all technical solution development, commercial, financial and strategic planning for the work winning arm of Carillion Government and Defence Ltd. Also overhauled and developed a new programme management approach to the bidding and contract mobilisation activities for the plc.

Operations Director to mobilise the MOD's large global white fleet contract, including a £multi-million IT development programme and P&L lead.

Working for Babcock D&S as head of programmes in the role of bid director within the major bids domain. Worked on the successful DSG acquisition and associated service provision contract bid. Bid Director for the successful multi-£bn bid to secure the MOD's large global white fleet contract.

Operations, Technical and Planning SME for the Babcock DSG Bid Team. As an independent, I worked on contract to develop the Operations and Fleets & Service Excellence transformation strategies and solution design. Responsible for the effective development and subsequent solution authoring of engineering and fleet management operations and the associated Sales and Operational Planning processes for a complex service provision pricing journey. After the team achieved successful selection as Preferred Bidder, conducted a comprehensive analysis across all operations output requirements to develop a DSG ‘discovery’ implementation and lead-in plan.

Worked as a contractor leading a 25-strong bid team for a multi-billion pound Defence acquisition and associated service contract. Responsible for leading on commercial, financial, business development and consortium building aspects of the bid. Also led on the strategic development and innovative transformation planning across the full range of outputs within the new business model. At contract end, had established an excellent rapport within Interserve, consortium members and the bid team.

Senior British Operations Officer (Pakistan): Apr 12 – Jun 13 (Colonel). The senior operations officer based in Pakistan responsible for a wide array of tasks, from cross border liaison into ISAF in Afghanistan, to acting as the UK lead for the Ground Lines of Communication (GLOC).• Directing my logistics staff for the UK response to all negotiations with top level, cross-Government Pakistani authorities for the complex and often fractious discussions to reopen the GLOC. After months of extensive negotiations and several formal strategic agreements and Memoranda, the GLOC was eventually opened for the first time for forward and reverse flow. • The cross border role into Afghanistan was to ensure that situational awareness of Pakistan related issues were communicated to the highest levels of UK and ISAF operations, including daily liaison with our US and international partners in Islamabad.

Commander Logistic Support Germany: Jul 10 – Mar 12 (Colonel). The lead logistics officer responsible for circa 4000 personnel based in Germany and UK. The role was primarily responsible for preparing 7 Logistic Regiments in all respects for operations in Afghanistan. Accountable for ensuring all logistic and legislative governance probity for every other Germany based Regiment (of circa 30,000 personnel). • Maintaining situational awareness of all UK military operations in Afghanistan in order to refine all training and HR requirements of my Regiments. Ensuring each unit understood the complexity of the Supply Chain from a technical perspective, yet fully prepared to operate within the high tempo, high threat environment. • Membership of the Army’s 6-strong Senior Logistics Executive Committee shaping logistics concepts and structures through all elements of the Government’s Strategic Defence and Security Review, whilst simultaneously challenged by the introduction of the new Defence logistic MIS (Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory – MJDI).

UK Defence Academy – Academic Instructor: Jan 09 – Jul 10 (Lieutenant Colonel). The Defence Academy is a world leading centre of excellence for Officer education. Selected as an academic instructor for the King’s College London partnered Advanced Command and Staff Course; a yearlong residential Masters’ Degree Course in Defence Strategic Studies and International Affairs. • Teaching and assessment of student performance for all modules of the course with a 100% success rate. • Latterly, personally tasked with re-writing and lecturing on the longest and most demanding aspect of the course, which centred on strategic communications and operational campaign planning in a cross-Government, multi-agency context. • Frequently presented Masters’ Degree level academic content to an audience of over 300 mature students.

Commanding Officer 12 Logistic Regiment: Jul 06 – Dec 09 (Lieutenant Colonel). The Regiment was a newly created unit of over 700 personnel and responsible for providing all elements of logistics support to an armoured brigade.• Selected to command, establish and operationlise the Regiment from scratch. Embarked upon a 16-month period of team building, intense individual and collective training, and a comprehensive series of formally mandated governance inspections. Successfully deployed the Regiment on operations to Iraq and Kuwait, providing all elements of supply chain and equipment support, from the ports to the front line, to a force of circa 10000 personnel.
