InstrumentationAdvantage was founded by CEO Jody Singleton more than 20 years ago with a government contract to develop instrumentation for the EA6B Prowler and Lear Jet aircraft pilot trainers. From there the company continued its tradition of instrumentation development ranging from smart grid devices to aerospace navigation systems, environmental analytical instruments such as Water Pollution Monitoring & Abatement, to medical devices controlled by the iPhone, Android and tablets.Singleton has been invited to present for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE Power & Energy Society and sit as an expert on this prestigious IEEE panel. Upon the debut of the GroundHound – Site Safety Warning System an instrument designed to protect high-voltage line workers, she presented on the subjects of ground potential (step & touch) rise and recent discoveries about dangerous transients present at high voltage work sites. Developed originally for the Department of Energy the instrument provides ZigBee communications, real-time monitoring, logging and alarming of hazardous conditions on high-voltage work-sites and is controlled from a safe distance via a smartphone.“We thrive on difficult and exciting challenges in engineering.” Nothing says it better!
