I absolutely enjoy what I do here at Iridium while providing world-class support for all of Iridium's products and data services to our partner's and end users. In addition to this I also provide hardware and software engineering support to our internal teams, external developers and other systems engineers who are creating devices utilizing our core components and network of satellites. The diverse nature of all of the devices and services that utilize our equipment under, on, and above our planet is one of many things that truly excites me about my work here at Iridium.

Performed a variety of contract positions for RHI Consulting during this timeframe that leveraged my strengths in a variety of IT disciplines such as E-mail server installation as well as optimizing and repairing existing installations, Database repair and optimization, IP Subnet reengineering and network engineering support, as well as hardware refresh activities across multiple locations.

Worked at AMEX on a contract from CN Tech to migrate existing credit card validation procedures to one that would meet the requirements set by the government. This included assisting large companies and card vendors with their development process, identifying the required fields for types of transactions required by each vendor, and also validating their transmissions/transactions in a test environment before migrating them to the new production environment at AMEX.

Performed DSL installation and support services via phone to SBC customers located in their coverage area. Assisted and trained customers as they migrated from dial-up to DSL.

Performed network and systems engineering services for our customers around the state of Arizona. Integrated a variety of solutions and technologies to achieve good results for our customers needs. Ranging from long-distance wireless backbones, database installation and integration, e-mail server setup all the way to end user training, I was provided a variety of opportunities to excel and gain knowledge in the industry.

Primary day-to-day IT support to a company of 50 users including e-mail, database, tape backup, and desktop support. Several of the power users required top-of-the line desktops for their CAD work and I was able to create several custom workstations that outperformed systems from the prior vendor at a significant cost savings. I also added VPN connectivity through a Cisco PIX solution so users could remote in from home and work once higher-bandwidth but lower-cost options became available.

Built custom PC and server hardware and software configurations. Systems ranged from value desktops to high-end workstations as well as large Compaq servers. All system required customization, setup, and testing. Was able to learn about various networking methods(Token Ring and Ethernet) and system imaging software which became very helpful in my later career.

After extensive driver training and testing I was placed as a test driver for GM for their high-performance V8 vehicles such as the Corvette, Camaro, and Firebird. This contract was for the duration of the hotter months out of the year to test drivability with different octane levels(Hot Fuels Testing). These tests were conducted at the GM's Desert Proving Grounds in east Mesa as well as a significant amount on downtown public roads and remote curvy mountain passes.

Proudly served as a soldier in the US ARMY tasked with the repair and crewing of UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters. While I was in I took full advantage of the educational programs and leadership development courses to further my career in the service. I was awarded for being the Honor Graduate for my helicopter repairer course. After an unfortunate medical diagnosis, I was given an Honorable Discharge.
