I went to Austin to help a friend’s dad who over-booked himself and his small company with too many FileMaker Pro-generated application projects. So, I quickly learned how to develop using the FileMaker Pro IDE. The application I created was web-based and reported data to the user, from its database, whose data I imported from an Excel spreadsheet.

They brought me on to analyze and improve their most taxing workflows by generating a new application that automates some redundant tasks. It also consolidates other tasks that were previously accomplished with a range of applications by enabling their employees to accomplish those tasks with one, new, MVP application. Of course, I generated and presented Visio diagrams of the old and new workflows, then detailed the architecture of the new system in a series of wireframes.

As a contractor through Renaissance Personnel Group, I was hired to perform a number of enhancements and modifications to several of their web sites. Most interestingly though, they had me create a “Wellness Gift Card” (WGC) PDF Generator. I made the generator using a generic web handler (*.ashx) file using .NET 4.0. It would… 1. Take a Member ID, Security Code, and Country ID from the user’s query string 2. Look up the Security Code that is stored in the TriVita database for that Member ID and compared it to the Security Code that was sent in the query stringIf those Security Codes were equal, the handler would… 3. Call another web service to get data about the user, or “premier member” 4. Create a PDF object based on WGC PDF template 5. Populate the text fields of the PDF object with the premier member data 6. Automatically place the generated WGC PDF in the user’s Downloads folder

• As a contractor through Serverlogic, they brought me on to create a new microsite that is live at www.limelight.com/gaming/. I used some fade-in effects for some of the text for the desktop display. I used a Bootstrap CSS3 library to cause it to display quite differently on mobile devices.• Then they brought me on permanently to o Update www.limelight.com/ and with new things like Webinars, Tech Specs, and User Cases using the Clickability content management system (CMS) and its language called Velocity.o Using JavaScript, determine if the user had selected a foreign language in their browser’s preferences. If they had, automatically forward the user to that Limelight foreign site.o Select three, non-SaaS, inexpensive, CMS platforms that are intuitive to non-technical employees and would integrate with three Limelight products: Performance, Video, and Content.o Enable Smartling to update foreign language translations on updated text in www.limelight.com/ by updating a staging, international environment. Given that the site is generated by a CMS platform, I ran a Java-based spider application to create a local copy of the site, then would update the staging environment using Subversion.

I enhanced an internal, web forms based, APS application that heavily employed Bootstrap, Knockout, AJAX, and SOAP web services. I used those technologies to write a front end component that enabled the user to select rows of a jQuery grid, press a button, and modify the values for each selected row through a modal, popup window. They had me create new Visual Studio projects to research how to log Javascript events using log4net.Lastly, I wrote C# classes with methods that front end developers could call to retrieve data from web services and to use to populate jQuery UI grids.

Policy Management Tool (MVC application)In a production support role, I performed “bug” fixes for the Policy Management Tool (PMT). This tool uses ASP.NET MVC 4, C#, jQuery 1.8.3, jQuery UI, AJAX, CSS, knockout 2.2.0, LINQ, the Entity Data Model, and SQL stored procedures.I performed enhancements such as converting the PMT usage of Fine Uploader (document upload tool) to using HTML 5 for uploading local documents to the Web-based application. I also enabled the application to parse and decompress Outlook emails (.MSG files) for storage such that the system can display their contents in a Web browser window.

LCenter (MVP application) • Enhanced the application by added a new “tab” (or page that looked like a tab). This new tab displayed search results in a ListView. Each row in the ListView contained a icon/link that enabled the user to update the details of that row in a modal, popup. Clicking Save or Cancel would update the database and the contents of the ListView. • Re-factored a number of form pages that normally would appear inside of a modal popup such that they can also appear in a separate window.

Pavaso (Web Forms application) Working in a very small team with only one other developer, I wrote the Administrative website for Pavaso (a dynamic Web application) using the Visual Studio (VS) 2010 and SQL Management Studio applications to write C#, HTML, Javascript, AJAX, JQuery, LINQ, and SQL. I employed the 4.0 .Net framework and the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) API, then structured data storage using the Entity Data Model. I also wrote methods to access Authorize.Net's Customer Information Manager API and its Advanced Integration Method API. I also wrote a configurable Windows service that deletes old temporary files from a designated folder after a designated amount of time.

Internet ProjectWorked with Silverlight to develop a GUI and business logic associated with platform-independent, light-weight, browser-embedded applications. Gained considerable exposure to Web Services and was challenged with passing calls to stateful, Lending Request Events through stateless Web Services using the Windows Communication Foundation. Expanded my experience in C# while developing the Web Services Generator in Visual Studio's 3.5 .NET framework for the ARGO System's tool set. Improving scalability and modularity to Webtrax (a dynamic browser-based application defined in Vignette) by converting Tool Command Language (TCL) statements into JavaServer Pages (JSP) and Structured Query Language (SQL) statements. This entails creating Java classes (using JBuilder) and stored procedures (using SQL Navigator) to support the new code. The goal of this project is to set up the application to eventually utilize the fail over capacity of BEA Weblogic application servers.

2007.1: Worked closely with another new hire to add and modify existing functionality in MASTARS (a dynamic browser-based application) to incorporate new JSP data elements into the user's work flow using Eclipse2007.2: Given the sole task of analyzing requirements for implementing a new layer of business logic, worked with Business Analysts, Managers, and peers to devise schema for integrating requirements with the given architecture, then performed several upgrades for the project involving eight languages ranging from front to back-end2007.3: Saved the company tax money by "Re-branding", from MCI to Verizon Business, two major applications. Streamlined the work flow for major corporate clients by adding functionality to WebFOCUS 5.3, reporting applications. These apps. reported from databases populated by Extract file data using SQL statements, then reported to the Web via HTML and JavaScript functions.
