I am starting my two year journey as a full time graduate student at Arizona State University, starting July 2019. I will be working towards a Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential to reach my personal goal of starting an effective and engaging non-profit in 2021. During this time, I will be working with Americorps and Tucson Unified School District in Internship Roles.

Role• Provides individual and group support services to TUSD Students at Cholla High School• Supports participants from a trauma informed care approach.• Works closely with the Internship Supervisor to implement Interventions and Care Plans for Students and Groups within the population. • Develops a network of resources throughout the school and the community to enhance the ability to be a liaison for group and program participants• Provide education and information to group participants on issues such as intimate partner violence, substance abuse, serious mental illness, trauma, and systemic oppression within our community. DUTIES• Support participants from a trauma informed care approach• Provides support, advocacy and case management services• Plans and facilitates educational support groups and activities for young women and students• Prepares and facilitates groups as well as individual sessions• Ensures the safety of each participant in the program. • Provides information, education and emotional support to students, and referrals to outside services as needed• Provides AmeriCorps SurvivorLink presentations at high schools on the subject of teen dating violence and healthy relationships• Adheres to NASW Code of Conduct and TUSD Employee Ethics Guidelines

Provides direct services to survivors of domestic violence and those directly impacted.Works to serve survivors of sexual and domestic violence and promote healthy relationships in our community. Attend domestic violence trainings - Each Survivor Link Case Specialist will attend trainings put on by ACESDV. Delivery of an evidence-based, survivor-focused safety planning intervention; and supporting staff and residents in social service agencies. Delivery of intense case management services and risk informed safety plans for those effected by domestic violence. The AmeriCorps member is expected to develop and sustain positive relationships with community partners. Community fieldwork will require regular documentation and supervision; members will be asked to submit online timecards every 2 weeks.
