Programmamanager Watersystemen bij Waterschap Scheldestromen

De afdeling Water houdt zich binnen het Waterschap Scheldestromen bezig met de ontwikkeling en het tot stand brengen van een goed functionerende en robuuste infrastructuur voor de waterhuishouding in Zeeland. Deze werkzaamheden hebben betrekking op zowel het watersysteem als de waterketen en omvatten activiteiten op het vlak van advisering, beleidsontwikkeling- en implementatie, planvorming en (voor watersystemen) realisatie van de infrastructuur.

As consultant at NEN-Envrionment I was primarily involved in national standardization activities in the soil field and European standardization activities related to the charactization of waste.

As a PhD-student I was involved in various European project investigating the interactions between ecological and physical processes in coastal areas, with a special reference to the role of microalgae in the stabilization of intertidal mudflats. I received my PhD in 2002 on the thesis "Dynamics in extracellular carbohydrates by marine benthic diatoms".
