As SME, (subject matter expert) routinely interacted and advised Operations and SAP Planner / Schedulers on automated procedures and day to day troubleshooting and maintenance. As Team Lead, oversaw all SCADA related equipment (Instrumentation, RTU, Telecommunications, Host, and FDC) for the Clearwater area of Alberta, including approximately 900 gas wells, compressors, oil batteries and an additional 500 oil wells from an Automation perspective. Oversaw all automation related work for 2 DCS (Distributed Control Systems) systems, all SCADA construction, and maintenance of IT and infrastructure equipment.  Championed many procedure improvements such as consistent RTU downloading practices for various contractors and wrote several technical papers on specific Automation software still in use today.  Contributed to a 2-year project that developed the latest version of Control Wave Micro program to be used throughout Western Canada Business Unit, resulting in a 40% reduction in program files, 50% reduced maintenance costs for RTU program loss and 35% more uptime for data reliability.  Reduced approximately 1500 man hours per year in research and development costs by locating, setting up and administering WCBU central repository (Sharepoint/Livelink) for storage of critical Automation files, an area that hadn’t previously existed. Consistently had outstanding performance reviews, completed all annual goals and was recognized several times for above and beyond contributions.  Reduced use of external vendors, enhancing cost efficiency.  Developed in house training courses, fostering talent and increasing skills among team members. Provided easy to understand documentation for each component, improving overall succession planning.

Oversaw 1 SCADA system and 2 DCS systems surrounding the Rimbey, AB area which included all SCADA related installations and maintenance. In addition, I filled the role of Electrical/Instrumentation Coordinator.  Worked extensively with COP maintenance programs including Maximo and SAP, interacting with Management of Change procedures as they applied to projects or routine PM work.
