Founded Belly Basics as an entrepreneurial startup. Created The Pregnancy Survival Kit, a 4-piece wardrobe in a box, for the pregnant woman. Revolutionized the maternity industry and developed Belly Basics into a lifestyle brand. Grew the line to include sportswear (both knit and woven), evening wear, swimwear, jeans, hosiery, diaper bags, and skincare.· Achieved annual sales of $7 million.· Distributed products worldwide. Sold to major department stores including Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, and Macy’s; international department stores, such as Harrods of London and Takashimaya in Japan; 200 specialty stores worldwide; mass market stores, such as Kohl’s (with a secondary line); and QVC. Sold direct through internet and catalogue sales. · Co-Wrote the definitive book on pregnancy style called “Pregnancy Chic, The Fashion Survival Guide,” published by Random House. Promoted the book on a 5-city book tour.· Created a worldwide advertising and public relations campaign to promote Belly Basics from its inception. Developed the campaign with the help of agencies and freelancers.· Directed and supervised all design, fabric sourcing, pricing, production, and packaging from samples/prototypes to finished goods.· Produced goods both domestically and overseas.· Managed goods in warehouse facilities that shipped domestically and overseas.· Established and owned rights to 8 U.S. trademarks and 15 foreign trademarks.· Established and managed 2 international license agreements under the name Belly Basics in Australia and Canada.
