Profile bio

About Jody Plank

What really brings me joy is tackling meaningful problems that require creative solutions. I love developing products that move science and the communication of discoveries forward. While at the bench, I did this by tying DNA into complex knots in order to understand how our cells resolve those knots and avoid becoming cancerous. These days I continue my search for interesting puzzles in the scientific publishing industry. I have developed products that train peer reviewers, help scientists with the visual communication of their work, and more recently focus on publication integrity and diversity in academic publishing.I take a very data- and experimentally-driven approach to the projects that I work on, sometimes favoring a “Lean Startup” approach and sometimes a “Tuned In” approach, depending on the situation. In my down time I’m an Aquarist/Aquascaper, Maker (wood and acrylic), and a huge fan of Science Fiction books and movies.

Listed skills include Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Molecular Cloning, Cell Biology, and 12 others.
