Engage and Change is a national charity which focuses on "good people working together for the good of people." Our mission is to assist those in need in our communities by promoting, identifying, and developing partnerships between individuals, for-profits, and not-for profit organizations. We stand out from other charitable organizations by designing events that will engage individuals who will contribute their time, and businesses who will contribute money and product. These engaged community members will assemble kits containing supplies for everyday survival that will be distributed through not-for-profit organizations to those who need them.We will inspire people and businesses to engage in a hands-on experience with a tangible outcome that will change the daily lives of people in our communities.Project Winter Survival and Project Water are Engage and Change initiatives. Project Water was started once I learned that "more people die on our streets of dehydration in the summer than they do of cold exposure in the winter". There was something that I could do to help and so I did. Each summer we assemble hundreds of volunteers and an incredible donor, Nestle Waters Canada and give out and distribute over 300,000 bottles of water to over 170 homeless service providers within the GTA on an annual basis.Project Winter Survival brings together people from local communities of all walks and engages them to get together, assemble and build survival kits for the homeless that are living on the streets. These kits have over 30 essential items in them that can make a difference between life and death. The project was founded 19 years ago and is rolling out across Canada in cities that have challenges with the Homeless not going inside during the winter months. Check out www.engageandchange.org
