My work at Fearsome entails collaborating with clients to design and produce cutting edge medical devices. In early 2020 I built my own 40 sqm workshop. This included laying a concrete foundation, and building a timber kit with SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels), and topping with a rubber roof. This workshop enabled me to run a small business for a number of years which produced bespoke, handmade products for customers. This ranged from sgian dubhs and welding balconies through to prop design work as a freelancer. In between University semesters, I worked for four months as a Summer Intern within a small subsea cables team at Briggs Marine. My work entailed problem solving through the use of my mechanical engineering knowledge (such as crane moments, pulley systems, point loads on lifting beams etc.), as well as logistical tasks to ensure projects ran smoothly. I was also frequently involved in the documentation side of projects, as well as sourcing equipment and raising purchase requests. Throughout some of my University career, I worked as a Survey Technician within the family business, performing LASER surveys of properties in both the private and public sector. This entailed communicating with clients and providing a service within a specified timeframe, as well as working within a professional environment with people from a range of backgrounds.

I worked as a member of staff in The Boathouse, Kilsyth as a summer job in between University semesters.The work allowed me to gain experience dealing with people in a customer service setting, as well as keeping a level head under pressure during busy services.
