Member of the DevOps group acting as a consultant to various client companies assisting with cloud migration, automation and DevOps workflow efforts. My engagements involved companies in various industries including finance and healthcare and covered a wide range of environment and technologies, although most of my work has been focused on GCP and automation using Terraform. My role on these engagements has ranged from Terraform specialist to technical lead responsible for the overall execution strategy.

Acted as DevOps engineer for the Orion project. Responsible for design and implementation of security and deployment automation of related applications. Primary resource for development of Terraform based configurations to automate deployment and updates for a complex multi-region and multi-account based platform. Worked with corporate teams to gain security certification for deployment to AWS. Primary technologies: AWS, Terraform, Gitlab, JIRA and Confluence.

Provide system administration and tooling support on the Cloud Foundry Toolsmiths team. Assisted with administration of several physical VMware clusters and additional virtualized VMware and OpenStack clusters used for development and testing by the many developer teams. Provided trouble shooting support to the developer teams when needed. Participated in development of several Ruby and Rails based tools including:- A configurator for the admin team to assist in applying bulk updates to the company Github organizations as team composition changed on an almost weekly basis- Various scripts and tools to assist with automated deployment of the company's Cloud Foundry product- A web portal to allow the developer teams to deploy and return Cloud Foundry environments used for testing and development- A Go based import redirect service so that company libraries could retain constant names even as the underlying repositories changed names or organizations as the matured from pre-alpha to production status

Provide system administration and devops support for an environment of over a thousand physical and virtual Linux servers in both our datacenters and the AWS cloud. Primary resource for scripting and automation solutions for the group. Administered many technologies on a day to day basis including: Infoblox and PowerDNS, F5 load balancers, VMware, Nagios, Gitlab, Jenkins, Ansible and Puppet.Primary programming projects (all implemented in Python) include:- A bulk DNS publisher update tool to coordinate bulk updates involving hundred to thousands of DNS record changes across dozens to hundreds of domains to maintain email campaign deliverability requirements; this tool was updated over time to account for a changing mix of DNS systems in use- A tool to extract, audit and migrate over 10000 DNS domains and their associated records from an overburdened Infoblox appliance to a replacement PowerDNS cluster- A Python based migration tool to coordinate moving roughly a thousand very active VIP endpoints from an end-of-life F5 BIG-IP application server stack to a newer stack in order to consolidate the configurations in the company in preparation for a vendor supported upgrade to current hardware

Contract work at Federal Express providing Linux and Windows system administration and troubleshooting support for an environment of thousands of physical and virtual servers. Performed bulk server build, configuration and decom activities in support of a large migration project to replace physical servers with VMware hosted virtuals.

As a member of the Enterprise Tools Group: monitored Windows, AIX and Linux servers in an ASP environment hosting mission critical hospital applications. Wrote several Python based tools to assist with bulk agent configuration updates and audits to work around limitations of the CA based monitoring system that we used.As a member of the Enterprise Services Management Group: tasked with remote monitoring and system administration support for hospital data centers nationwide; assisted onsite personnel with project work and afterhours oncall support.

Responsible for all aspects of computing and telecommunications support for a small software development company. Managed a primarily Linux environment with some Solaris and Windows systems and acted as DBA for all company Oracle and MySQL databases. Assisted developers with research and implementation of new tools and libraries when needed. Wrote a distributed backup system for computing resources using a mix of Python and Bash scripts. Wrote and maintained internal Zope based intranet site. Wrote Jython based tools for a CVS to Subversion repository migration project and a development agent for instrumenting the company's Java based ETL product.

Lead a team of four in MS IIS based corporate web application development. Projects include applications for web based surveys, bi-annual department performance evaluations, and a multi-level departmental/employee phonebook. I also functioned as a system administrator for a small number of departmental Windows NT and Novell NetWare servers.

Responsible for all aspects of system administration and end user support for a 100+ PC network in the Administration department.

Provided end user support for a 400+ PC network and assisted with system administration duties in a high stress hospital environment.
