As Five Below continued to grow, supply chain management was broken out into multiple divisions, and I was promoted to lead import, risk analysis, factory onboarding & audit review, and other compliance initiatives. I hired and led a team of 5 and administered $140M inbound freight budget. Key achievements include:- Added $6.5M to top-line revenue by collaborating with buyers, vendors, freight forwarder, and management to diversify and expedite shipping of top-selling item with sea, air, and truck options.- Built 3-person customs trade division to strengthen customs and CTPAT compliance via improved import item setup processes, a master parts table, a customs compliance manual, and internal auditing.- Cultivated relationship with new trucking company discovered at RILA conference, negotiating $700,000 savings in annualized rate while improving service levels.- Captured $5.3M in savings by quickly capitalizing on temporary exclusions from new 301 tariffs.

I was hired by Five Below’s co-founders to structure and scale the supply chain program, overseeing inbound logistics, store delivery, carrier management, warehousing, and distribution center operations. Managing a $28M budget, I continually identified efficiencies, reengineered processes, and restructured supply chain in agile startup environment. Highlights include:- Orchestrated 30%-50% year-over-year growth in container volume by instituting protocols, streamlining processes, and continually overcoming global logistics challenges.- Directed site selection, equipment procurement, and relocation to new distribution center space in less than 3 months, just 4 weeks after joining Five Below.- Rescued $40M+ of top line sales in late 2014 by rapidly redirecting Southeast Asia shipments to Prince Rupert, bypassing ILWU backlogs in California, and enabling continuous flow of 91% of original volume.- Earned “Hold the Penny Hostage” award for troubleshooting escalating freight-in costs, adding lead time, and collaborating with 3PL to introduce rail option that saved nearly $100,000 in one quarter.- Realized need for onshore deconsolidation center as Five Below grew to multiple distribution centers across the U.S.; evaluated RFPs, awarded bid, and structured direct-to-DC order process.- Established overseas consolidation program by onboarding multiple consolidation locations, minimizing unnecessary buying while eliminating need for onshore deconsolidation.

Leading a team of 16, I oversaw planning and distribution of merchandise for all 6 lines of business, producing total of $550M in annual revenue. Highlights include:- Boosted store gross margin productivity levels, optimized inventory levels, improved turns, and maximized sales.• Developed, enhanced, and maintained weekly departmental ship-plans to manage inbound and outbound flow of merchandise, working within warehouse and store capacity constraints and in support of company sales and inventory plans.
